  • Mittlerweile sind 26 Jahre vergangen, seitdem das Pasadena Roof Orchestra ein Live Album veröffentlicht hat. Es ist also an der Zeit in Erinnerung zu rufen, was dieses Orchester Live zu leisten im Stande ist.

    Der Erfolg des Pasadena Roof Orchestras zieht sich nun schon über Generationen – und wir sind nicht mehr weit von einem großen Jubiläum entfernt. Die erste Probe des Orchesters fand 1969 statt, die ersten großen Auftritte kamen Mitte der 1970er zustande. Dass es immernoch regelmäßig Konzerte weltweit spielt – und das fast 50 Jahre nach der ersten Zusammenkunft – lässt sich mit zwei Umständen begründen: 1. Die Qualität der Musik selbst, und 2. der hohe Standard des musikalischen Könnens der Musiker innerhalb der Band. Das Orchester hat diese beiden Prinzipien stets verfolgt, eine Tatsache, die sich in der Auswahl der Songs des Albums widerspiegelt.

It's at least 26 years since The Pasadena Roof Orchestra released a live album, so here is a timely reminder of the standard of performance that this orchestra can achieve, recorded live, in full cry!

The success of the Orchestra has now spanned generations, and we are not far from a golden jubilee. The Orchestra's first ever rehearsal was in 1969, then it turned professional in the mid 1970s. The fact that it is still performing regularly all over the world, nearly 50 years after that first rehearsal, is due to two facts: The first is the quality of the music itself, and the second, the standard of musicianship within the band. The Orchestra has never compromised with these two principles, a fact that will ring clear and true from this selection of tracks, which I sincerely hope you will enjoy listening to.
