Slixs tragen einen gemeinsamen musikalischen Nenner im Herzen: Auszuloten, was mit der menschlichen Stimme alles möglich ist, also Klangerzeugung im elementaren Sinne. Und hier stolpert der ein oder andere Hörer nichtsahnend in ein Paradies aus Klangfarben, Lautmalerei und Vocal Percussion. Der Klang des Ensembles ist derart beweglich, dass Schwindelgefühle entstehen können. The Slixs members all share the same unique musical ambition: to plumb the depths of the human voice – the very production of sound itself. Such is the way how listeners stumble unwittingly into this paradise of tone colours, soundscapes and vocal percussion. The sound produced by this vocal ensemble is so agile, it can make you swoon. And if you focus on the overall picture rather than the detail, you will be astounded by the quality of the songs themselves. Great songs, strong songs, nine of which were penned by the Slixs themselves. There is only one cover version: David Bowie's Heroes. A more beautiful polyphonic homage is hard to imagine.
