This year soul jazz icon Jeff Cascaro decided to take a deep dive into the world of popular music. The 60s and 70s gave the music world exceptional soul and disco tunes. Songs that did not lose their appeal even after 40 or 50 years. Still today these songs inspire you to dance or daydream today. Jeff Cascaro has searched for his favourites and managed to make the songs his own. The digital EP includes his versions of the smash hits "California Dreamin'", "I Can See Cleary Now" and "Never Can Say Goodbye".

California Dreamin' is a hymn to an attitude for living and was made famous in the mid-60s by The Mamas and The Papas. Jeff Cascaro has shaped it into a ballad that radiates wonderful light. A dazzling soul-jazz-pop hit in a new guise.

In the summer of 1972, 50 years ago, Johnny Nash released the song "I Can See Clearly Now", which reached #1 in the Billboard charts. Jeff Cascaro and his fellow musicians have preserved the spirit of this folk pop hit and recorded their own, very sensitive version in the studio.

"Never Can Say Goodbye" was once released on the Motown label by the Jackson Five, but it was the disco version from 1974 by the legendary Gloria Gaynor that elevated this tune to disco Olympus and received a second makeover by The Communards in 1986. Jeff Cascaro brings this title back into the soul feeling. A brilliant version.
